Maddi Dellplain

Maddi is a national-award nominated multi-media journalist and editor based in the unceded territories of the Squamish, Musqeum, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. Her work primarily centers on issues relating to health, science, disability and drug policy.



Maddi holds a graduate degree in Journalism from the University of British Columbia. She was the recipient of the 2023 Master of Journalism Award for distinguished reporting on issues relating to equity and inclusion. She's been recently recognized with national award nominations from the Canadian Association of Journalists, Digital Publishing Awards and the National Magazine Awards-B2B for 2023. Her work on the "Faces and Phases of COVID-19" also helped earn a Digital Publishing Award nomination for Best Science and Technology Storytelling in 2022. Maddi's work has appeared in Healthy Debate, L'actualité, The Tyee, J-Source, and more.
